The Beauty of Things Seen and Unseen

West Indies Mahogany, Steel, Clear and Red Lacquer, 21″ High, 12″ Deep

After soaking up the Caribbean sun for years this piece of Mahogany had faded to grey. Since Mahogany has a high resistance to rot, the wood just below this patina is pristine. I had discovered this multiple times when cutting down standing dead Mahoganies that has lost their bark and were entirely grey. With this piece I am exposing the beauty of the Mahogany just under the surface. The correlation to the human condition should be obvious.
